A new DIY handheld tricorder-like device

Hamzah Abugosh has built ThriCorder v3.8, a handheld multi-sensor device built on the ESP32-S3, inspired by Star Trek tricorders.

It measures environment, distance, color, thermal, sound, and wireless signals — displayed on a 1.8″ TFT with an 8×8 LED matrix and PWM audio SFX. And the electronics have a custom 3D printed case. Many of the parts are sourced from Adafruit:
