Using Wearable Tech to Keep Employees Safe in Heat #WearableWednesday

With Summer 2023 being the hottest on record, politicians in New York, Arizona, Massachusetts, and more have been looking at ways to keep people safe during high temps. Until legislation passes, employers like UPS are making sure employees have access to a cool and safe work environment. But what about people who work outside? One contractor in Texas is using wearables to help keep employees safe. via KXAN

Seth Campbell, a safety manager for Rogers O’Brien Construction, said heat is his top safety concern for workers. His job is to make sure everyone goes home safe to their families at the end of every day.

“Heat is definitely one of our top conversations because it can sneak up on you before you even know it,” he said. “And next thing you know you’re in the hospital, or worse.”
