This Saturday in San Francisco: SRL Documentary Film, Rare Glimpse of ‘The Spine Robot’

If you’re anywhere near the Roxie in the Mission District of San Francisco this Saturday I highly recommend – it’s where I’d be if I lived there! – the first screening of the documentary film Survival Research Laboratories: Live at the Extreme Futurist Festival, Los Angeles, California, December 22, 2012, about that eponymous organization of robots and robiticists. A Q&A with filmmakers and members of SRL will also take place after the screening; prior to the screening Mark Pauline will demonstrate The Spine Robot in front of the theater.

This first public screening of this documentary – hosted by Survival Research Labs Founder and Director Mark Pauline, and SRL video producer and filmmaker Steve Bage – chronicles the planning, pre-production, and performance of a full Survival Research Labs show, captured by seventeen cameras.
