Arduglasses #WearableWednesday

The Arduglasses are Arduboy compatable glasses with transparent OLED lenses. The frames themselves are custom PCBs. From Kevin Bates on Hackster.io:

The glasses are made out of printed circuit boards from OSH Park. The electronics driving the two displays are entirely on the right side stem of the glasses along with a small 100mAh rechargeable battery that will run the glasses for a little more than an hour. The left side stem is the same PCB, just unpopulated.

Sun Yuan and Peng Yu: Can’t Help Myself #ArtTuesday

This work that was commissioned by the Guggenheim Museum uses an industrial looking robot and visual-recognition sensors. VernissageTV shared this video on Youtube!

The Chinese artists Sun Yuan and Peng Yu participate in the 58th International Art Exhibition in Venice with their work “Can’t Help Myself” (2016). For this piece, Sun Yuan and Peng Yu use a Kuka industrial robot, stainless steel and rubber, cellulose ether in colored water, lighting grid with Cognex visual-recognition sensors, and polycarbonate wall with aluminum frame.

For visitors to see these treasures, conservators in the Museum’s Emil Buehler Conservation Laboratory are preparing the accessories for their upcoming display in the reimagined gallery America by Air, scheduled to open in fall 2022.
