Mario 64 Cake Timing Light Game

If you’re looking for a new Mario game without bananas peels ruining your lap or getting bounced off course right before the finish line, the Mario 64 Cake Timing Game is great!

Welcome to my Mario 64 Cake Carnival Timing Game! The cake is modeled after the end screen in Mario 64. The active light moves around the cake in a circle. The goal of the game is to stop the light on the star by pressing the button on the cake cutter. The game gets more difficult after each success by incrementing the level and speed. An LED matrix in the center of the cake is used to display the level. All of the electronics are inside the cake and cake stand. If you fall below zero you’ll get a sad face, but reach level 10 and get a bright smile!

9 Forgotten Black Enclaves That Offered Hope and Community

I hadn’t heard of so many of these places! Definitely will visit when I can, from Atlas Obscura Lists.

Second-class citizenship forced many Black Americans to create their own communities, where they could live freely. Here are 9 places you can visit today that provided Black Americans with some of what America had been denying them, on the ongoing journey to equality and freedom.

Robot Goes Electric #MusicMonday

If robots had second acts like formerly washed-up celebrities, it would be arm-pumpingly and over-the-shoulder hands-wavingly excellent to find Robbie the Robot on the wheels of steel spinning nu-breaks at 3am in some post-pandemic all night dance celebration. Until that happens, we have a robotic arm tone-shifting on a Digitone. Here’s more from DECIMA1:

In this video I programmed a robotic arm to play an ambient tune on the Digitone. I used the pen adapter to the end of the arm and a pen to press the keys. Enjoy!
