Some would argue that we’ve all been living in a sci-fi simulation the last 9 months, 2020 having been an avalanche of global insanity completely beyond the scope of imagination. Still, there was somehow an appetite to retreat into fictional realms as a way of blocking it all out, and plenty of content to satisfy that urge. We’re celebrating this year’s National Science Fiction Day by making our way through some 2020 sci-fi round-ups, scraping the content barrel for anything we may have missed while we binged our way through the quarantine.
First, for the more literary among us, we have The Guardian’s Best science fiction and fantasy books of 2020. Goodreads is also a great place to check when you’re looking to bolster the reading line-up. We also recommend heading over to Tor.com where they consistently post solid year-end round-ups for all things sci-fi.
There are also some interesting picks on the best of sci-fi movie lists from Paste Magazine and Looper.
And don’t forget TV! Ranker has you covered in that department.
