Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort surrendered to the FBI Monday morning. News broke Friday evening that the first charges had been filed in the Russia investigation led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Kremlin.
Manfort turned himself in Monday morning, walking through the front door of the FBI’s Washington D.C. office.

The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that the charges against Mueller include tax fraud, among other things, though the FBI has not confirmed.
One of Manafort’s former business associates Rick Gates was also told to surrender Monday morning, according to reports. Gates, too, had a relationship with the Trump campaign. Last September, Reuters reported that Gates worked as the Trump campaign’s de facto campaign manager for two months.
