A lot of sci-fi shorts on channels like DUST offer curious little vignettes, slices of life from some imagined future, but they rarely feel like a complete narrative arc and few ever have what could be called a definitive ending. Not so this wonderful little short, The Mechanical. Its ending pitches a zinger.
