Music Made With Sounds from the Womb #MusicMonday

If you attach the electrodes of the MIDI Biodata Sonication Device to “the leaves of a plant or skin, fluctuations in galvanic conductance will produce MIDI notes, which are transmitted on a configurable MIDI channel.” It creates sound from biodata. In a unique and original effort to use sounds that have never been used for music before, the musician Elizabeth Hart and Lee Perry have used sounds recorded from Hart’s womb. Here’s more from Synthopia:

The album is attributed to Luca Yupanqui, but was recorded before she was born.

“Sounds of the Unborn” was made with biosonic MIDI technology with the help of her parents, Psychic Ills bassist Elizabeth Hart and Lee “Scratch” Perry collaborator Iván Diaz Mathé.

They created a ritual, using sensors hooked to Hart’s stomach to generate MIDI data, which was fed into Mathé’s synthesizers. After five hour-long sessions, the shape of an album began to emerge.
