Storing Data in Bubbles – The Weird 1960’s Technology used by NASA and Konami

Developed in the 1960s by Bell Labs, bubble memory uses “a thin film of a magnetic material to hold small magnetized areas.” While more modern memory quickly replaced most bubble memory. Arcade cabinets continued to use the system for its anti-piracy capabilities. Bubble memory boasted to be impossible to copy. Learn more from The Retro Collective and from Wikipedia
