Ultraleap 3Di Stereo Hand Tracking Camera
The Ultraleap 3Di Stereo Hand Tracking Camera is designed to be connected to an interactive screen. Together with Ultraleap’s world-leading software, it transforms displays into touchless, three-dimensional, immersive surfaces. Ultraleap 3Di allows easy integration of Ultraleap hand tracking in a form factor ruggedized for use in permanent settings – such as self-serve kiosks, digital out-of-home installations, interactive displays in retail, museums, and theme parks, or medical/industrial uses.
Ultraleap 3Di is part of Ultraleap’s TouchFree end-to-end solution – camera hardware, reliable hand tracking software, and developer tooling. The camera uses Ultraleap’s patented stereo infrared technology and world-leading Gemini hand tracking software. It is robust even in challenging lighting conditions, and reliably tracks a wide variety of hand sizes and shapes.
Adafruit DRV2605L Haptic Motor Controller – STEMMA QT / Qwiic
The DRV2605 from TI is a fancy little motor driver. Rather than controlling a stepper motor or DC motor, its designed specifically for controlling haptic motors – buzzers and vibration motors. Normally one would just turn those kinds of motors on and off, but this driver has the ability to have various effects when driving a vibe motor. For example, ramping the vibration level up and down, ‘click’ effects, different buzzer levels, or even having the vibration follow a musical/audio input.
This chip is controlled over I2C – after initialization, a ‘string’ of multiple effects can be strung together in the chips’ memory and then triggered to actuate in a row. The built-in effects are much much nicer than just ‘on’ and ‘off’ and will make your haptic project a way nicer feeling.
Tactile Switch Assortment – 25 Different Buttons – 10 pcs each – Through Hole and Surface Mount
When designing your next PCB, if you’re not sure what sort of tactile switches you can fit, or how they would look, this Tactile Switch Assortment with 25 Different Buttons (10 pcs each type) is incredibly handy! You get just enough that you can prototype and even lose a couple pieces, but not so many that you’re drowning in buttons.
Also great for repair, if you’re not positive of what tactile switch is in the appliance or device you’re using.
Each switch is momentary-type, where the contacts on either side close when the button is pressed. Some have 4 legs since there’s duplicate connections – that doesn’t mean there’s two separate switches. Use a multimeter on continuity mode if you’re not sure of how the tact switch is set up.
Motorized Slide Potentiometer – 10KΩ Linear with 5V DC Motor
This linear slide potentiometer comes with an added kick – its not just a plain old slide pot! Underneath is mounted a slim geared DC motor that can gently move the wiper up and down, without human interaction. Often seen in very fancy A/V control panels, you could use these as linear feedback sensors for light robotics, or for interactive controls that can be controlled digitally as well as manually.
Adafruit LSM6DS3TR-C + LIS3MDL – Precision 9 DoF IMU – STEMMA QT / Qwiic
Add high-quality motion, direction, and orientation sensing to your Arduino project with this all-in-one 9 Degree of Freedom (9-DoF) sensor with sensors from ST. This little breakout contains two chips that sit side-by-side to provide 9 degrees of full-motion data.
The board includes an ST LSM6DS3TR-C (a.k.a LSM6DS3), a great entry-level 6-DoF IMU accelerometer + gyro. The 3-axis accelerometer can tell you which direction is down towards the Earth (by measuring gravity) or how fast the board is accelerating in 3D space. The 3-axis gyroscope can measure spin and twist.
This chip is very similar to the now-discontinued LSM6DS33, a great entry-level IMU. As part of the illustrious LSM6DS family, it’s well-established and well-supported, and this chip even has better performance! Note it is not firmware-compatible with the ‘DS33, so you will need to recompile code (e.g our Arduino and Python libraries support the whole family but you do have to indicate which exact chip you’re using)
It also includes a LIS3MDL 3-axis magnetometer that can sense where the strongest magnetic force is coming from, generally used to detect magnetic north. The three triple-axis sensors add up to 9 degrees of freedom, by combining this data you can orient the board. Check out our guide on how to do that!
