Mayor Bowser makes the case for D.C. statehood

Lawmakers on the House Oversight and Reform Committee debated legislation Monday that would make Washington the 51st state. Mayor Bowser, who testified at the hearing, called Republican attacks against statehood ‘stupid’: “They show that they have run out of and we have debunked all of the arguments they have used against us."
