Clive and Oneita Thompson fled violence in their home country Jamaica in 2004 and came to the United States to seek asylum. And after 14 years working and paying taxes, they were facing deportation. For the last two years they lived in Philadelphia churches, and now they’re free. The Thompson’s join MSNBC’s “American Voices” host Alicia Menendez to talk about their experience, what they hope to see in asylum and immigration reform, and what is next for their family.
