Converting a Lame 40K Miniature into an Awesome One

Recently, someone gave Jeremy of Black Magic Craft a Hellbrute model, to be used in his Death Guard Chaos Space Marines army for the sci-fi tabletop game Warhammer 40,000. Jeremy found the model kind of silly (as I always have) and decided to do a major conversion on it.

Using parts from other models, Milliput, and pieces from his bitz box, Jeremy made a suitably icky-squishy model (Nurgle is a god of pestilence and plague) that very much fits in thematically with the Death Guard army that he’s building.

One great discovery he made during painting and finishing was in how he created drips and liquid flows. He’s tried the common methods of using fishing line and UV-cured resin for drips, but this time, he tried cutting thin strips of clear plastic to use as the basis to build on (adding colored resin on top of that). The results look fantastic.
