Filming the Speed of Light with the world’s fastest camera #Science #Photography @Caltech @TheSlowMoGuys

Via Emily Velasco, Twitter – Did you know it’s possible to build a camera so fast that it can record a video of light traveling? I literally spent many hours taking care of the arrangements to make this happen, so check it out! (Note: This is not an April Fools post, seriously)

The video below shows some amazing photography from T-CUP: the world’s fastest camera, capable of capturing ten trillion (1013) frames per second. This new camera literally makes it possible to freeze time to see phenomena — and even light! — in extremely slow motion. The camera and team are at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California USA. lead by Lihong Wang.

For more on the technology see caltech.edu.
