Created by Jie Qi and illustrated by K-Fai Steele, Love to Code: Volume 1 – Microsoft MakeCode Edition is a full-colored, easy-to-approach book that will make everyone fall in love with coding. It’s geared towards educators and young makers who want to dive in Microsoft’s block-based language.
Your helpful and adorable spirit animal guide is Fern the Frog, who’ll introduce you to her friends and the “sometime hard, but fun” concepts in electronics and debugging.
This mini-tome is wonderfully interactive and includes over 160 pages of craft paper circuits for you to show what you’ve learned about variables and conditional statements. By the end of the book, you’ll create beautiful light-fading effects with loops and multithreading.
Works great with all of Chibitronic’s stickers and sensors. You’ll also need a Love To Code Chibi Chip, Chibi Clip, and some LEDs to play along
Programming is done in MakeCode, no drivers or special software required, use any computer or phone that has a web browser and headphone out.
Please note: these pages are ready to be set in a small binder, but the binder is not included. You can use them as loose leaf or pick up a binder at your local office/stationary shop!
